The morning view from our tent yesterday morning in a desert oasis.
Reflecting at The Salton Sea on a @BrinsonBanks #westcoastexplorersclub adventure/shoot.
We watched the Imperial Sand Dunes turn from tan to pink to mauve to black. It was magic.
Our fancy desert hotel for the night includes free parking, free wifi, free access to mineral pools and pool, and all the friendly leather-skinned, quirky neighbors you could ask for. (at Bombay Beach)

David, enveloped in green and yellow
We had a shoot in a lab yesterday. Things got weird, as they always do when David and I have our cameras out.
“I moved to Sun City twenty years ago,” Strong told me after her aerobics. “You don’t buy a house here—you buy a way of life. I started learning to do splits when I was 65.” -writer Ben Shattuck wrote, from our recent trip to Sun City for Horzu Magazine / more photos on my blog www.kendrickbrinson.com/blog

The talented Austin Wilson in our muddy cabin in El Capitan Canyon
I love these two beautiful souls.
Last night was the blurry, undulating, smiling culmination of a handful of exhausting/inspiring/honest/soggy days spent with wonderful people, including my best best friend since we were 5. Glad to have shared it with her and so many new inspiring friends. Until next year, #yeahfieldtrip
@brinsonbanks (er, David & I) were supposed to lead a #yeahfieldtrip photo walk in the hills, but we were lured by the swollen ocean’s song and wound up there instead.
The hills have eyes. // Today we (@brinsonbanks) lead our second #yeahfieldtrip workshop of the weekend—we’ll be talking about the deep importance of personal photography and how it can keep your work fresh, but, more importantly, how it can reignite that spark of WHY you fell in love with photography in the first place (before it was about paying the bills). Photos of/passion for/spending time with this man is a big part of what keeps me so excited about what I do for a living.
